General features​

How to switch the double-click wake-up function?​

  • Users can wake up the system or open the screen by double-clicking the display screen; however, since the touch screen will not turn off after turning on this function, some power consumption will be increased.
  • Android 12: Settings -> System -> Gestures -> Double-click to wake up

How to automatically rotate the screen?​

  • Notification bar -》 Pull down -》 Automatically rotate the screen; (Android12)

How to control the response of the key after the lock screen?​

  • Settings -》 Safety -》 Volume keys;

How to turn off full screen volume adjustment?​

How to automatically upgrade firmware?​

  • If the latest version is detected, you can upgrade it yourself;

How to manually upgrade firmware?​

  • Download the firmware provided by HiBy (the general firmware name format is *update.zip) and copy the firmware to the player;
  • Or directly download the firmware provided by HiBy (the general firmware name format is *update.zip) to the player;
  • Settings -》 System -》 System Update -》 Upper Right corner ... -》 Local upgrade -》 Select the corresponding upgrade firmware;
  • Wait for the upgrade to be completed;

Can firmware be downgraded?​

  • Whether the device can be downgraded depends mainly on the platform it uses. The specific platform-related information can be found inReferSee;
  • Android 9.0 can be downgraded (660 platform);
  • Android 12.0 can be downgraded (665 platform);
  • For firmware, please select the firmware package ending with *_update.zip;
  • Since the downgrade is a forward traceback and the software cannot be pre-processed, the downgrade may cause abnormal working of the system or some APPs, please use it with caution;
  • If it is an exception to a single APP, you can enter Settings -》 Application -》 to clear the APP data;
  • If the system is abnormal, you may need to restore the factory settings. You can enter the Settings -> Settings -> reset option; or contact the manufacturer to enter recovery mode to clear data.

What is the reason for the notification column?​

  • There is too much information, and the notification bar cannot be displayed. This point tells the user that other information has been compressed and has not been displayed.
  • If users adjust fonts, it is more likely to appear. The larger the font, the less information it can display, the more likely it will lead to the compression of the information.

How to restore native desktop icons?​

  • Different models may have different processing methods, please refer to the following

How to enter the developer options?​

  • Settings -》 About the device -》 Firmware version number (click 5 times);

How to enter Android safe mode?​

  • When powered on, press the power button.
  • In the pop-up menu, press and hold the Shutdown option until the message "Restart and enter Safe Mode" appears.
  • Click OK to restart and enter safe mode.

How to exit Android safe mode​

  • In safe mode, restart the phone.

  • If you cannot exit safe mode by restarting the device, try these one by one. Verify each action to confirm whether the problem is resolved, and then try the next action:

  • Remove all protective covers. The protective case may interfere with the device's physical keys and prevent the device from starting properly.

  • Make sure the volume keys and power keys are responding properly and make sure they are not stuck in one position.

  • Make sure to click "Shut down" when restarting the device and do not hold it down. If you press the "Shutdown" option frequently, some models of devices may restart to safe mode.

  • Make sure your system is the latest.

  • If your device is already the latest system software but the problem persists, try performing a factory reset on your device.
  • Note: When you perform factory reset, all personal content in the device's memory will be deleted. You can back up what you want to save. Contents on external memory cards (SD cards) will not be deleted.

How to hide the app?​

Currently, pre-installed applications cannot be deleted, but the following methods can be used to hide and restore applications, taking Via as an example:

  • Disable: Settings ->Applications ->All applications ->Via ->Disable, so that this application can not be found on the desktop.
  • Enable: Settings -》Applications -》All Applications -》Menu in the upper right corner -》Show system applications -》Find the corresponding application -》Enable.

How to use Google Play?​

  • When you use it for the first time, the system will automatically decide whether to enable Google Play based on the language and region you choose (you need to access Google Play scientifically when visiting Google Play in mainland China, so Simplified Chinese and mainland China Google Play is turned off by default).
  • If your first choice is different from what you want, then you can go to Settings -> App -> to turn on the Google Play switch.

How to handle Google Play exceptions?​

  • Turn off Google Play and restart the device.
  • Turn on Google Play and restart the device.
  • Settings -》 Applications -》 View all applications -》 Google Play Services -》 Permissions -》 Allow permissions.

How to use the player as a USB DAC?​

There are other different statements about USB decoder: USB sound card, USB DAC, USB audio input;

  • Connect the player and other devices through a USB cable;
  • Top status bar drop-down;
  • Connecting this device via USB;
  • Select Audio Input (USB Charging) or Audio Input (USB Not Charging);
  • You can enter USB DAC mode; (This part may involve different host platforms, please refer toRefer）
  • Select Audio Input (USB Charging): The charging process continues with the USB DAC process
  • Or select the audio input (USB does not charge): no charge is performed during the USB DAC process

What should I do if the player is not recognized as a USB DAC?​

If it's connected to a computer

  1. Player: Settings -》 USB Settings -》 Select the device, and then re-plug and unplug the player and try it;
  2. If it doesn't work and the user's host is Windows, try to open UsbTreeView, then plug and unplug the USB cable to see if there is any device connection on UsbTreeView. If there is no device connection and disconnection, it means there is a problem with the connection (if the host problem has been ruled out, it is a player problem), otherwise it means there is a problem with the driver. If connected to a mobile phone

  1. Make sure your phone supports OTG. If there is an OTG switch, make sure the OTG switch is turned on (usually located in the Phone Settings -> More connections).
  2. Player: Settings -》 USB Settings -》 Select the device, and then plug and unplug the player and try it.
  3. For Android phones, download HiBy Music APP -> Settings -> USB exclusive function, plug and unplug the player to see if it reacts;.

What should I do if the player does not recognize the USB decoder?​

  1. Confirm that the plugged USB device supports USB DAC;
  2. Test using the following method:
    • Open HiBy Music APP -> Settings -> USB exclusive function, plug and unplug USB DAC to see if it reacts;
    • Player settings -》 USB settings -》 Select OTG, and then re-plug and unplug the USB DAC and try it;
    • If there is no response, it will be incompatible. Try the following operations:

  4. Try replacing the USB cable;

Audio​

Is the sampling rate displayed in the Android status bar inconsistent with the song sampling rate?​

  • If the player you are using is HiBy Music, please click on the sampling rate position in the middle of the playback interface, and the entire audio processing path will pop up. Please make sure that the DSP and fixed sampling rate in the entire audio processing path are not enabled;
  • The general streaming audio app only supports up to 192k, and other sampling rates may be directly resampled;
  • Enter Settings -》 Audio Settings -》 Plugin to check whether there is a fixed sampling rate, and the plugin will resample the song sampling rate;

What are the CPU working mode options in the developer options?​

  • This is a switch that we have retained in our test and is not recommended to use normal mode. By default, our devices all work in performance mode.
  • Performance: The performance mode is guaranteed for smoothness and high-spec audio output when the screen is opened.
  • In terms of power consumption: (open screen) actual test, when playing audio under open screen, the power consumption of performance mode and normal mode is not much different. Because the power consumption is large on the display and audio.
  • Power consumption: (Standby) It doesn’t matter if the screen is turned off and standby, because the CPU has all gone to bed.

LO / BAL LO Is the volume adjustable? (2024/01 firmware will start to be supported in the future)​

  • Currently, all players have added LO/BAL LO volume adjustable function;
  • The non-Darwin architecture adjusts the volume of the DAC;
  • Darwin architecture (Darwin R2R / Darwin MPA) machines realize volume adjustment by adjusting digital signals (for example: RS6/RS8/R8II);

Is the SPDIF volume adjustable? (2024/01 firmware will start to be supported in the future)​

  • Currently, all players have added SPDIF volume adjustable function; (Settings -> Audio Settings -> Turn off SPDIF digital volume lock)

Is the global USB volume adjustable? (2024/01 firmware will start to be supported in the future)​

  • Currently, all players have added USB volume adjustable function; (Settings -> Audio Settings -> Turn off USB digital volume lock)

Power Management​

Maximum charging capacity management?​

  • This function is mainly used to limit the percentage of the user. If the percentage is charged, the charging will stop;
  • To avoid charging users mistakenly thinking that they are unhappy in the case of shutdown, this option will not affect shutdown charging;

Idle shutdown?​

  • This function is mainly used to turn off the power without the user playing;
  • Android 12: Settings -》 Battery -》 Idle shutdown

Timely shutdown?​

  • This function is usually used by the user before going to bed, and then it will automatically turn off at the set time, regardless of whether you are currently playing;
  • Android 12: Settings -》 Battery -》 Timed shutdown

Android12 cannot be turned on at low battery?​

  • When shutting down and plugging it into USB directly, it will not be able to turn on regardless of the battery level, and it will enter the large icon charging interface;
  • If the power is less than 5%, it cannot be turned on. Press the power button to re-enter the large icon charging interface;
  • When the power is less than 10%, do not plug in USB and press the power button to turn on and enter the Android system;
  • When the power is higher than 10%, plug in USB and press the power button to turn on and enter the Android system;

How does an Android player provide battery charging or discharge records?​

  • Install 3C Battery Manager_4.6.9b_Apkpure.apk
  • Then record the relevant battery parameter data, please note that the APP does not exit, let it work in the background.

MQA Function​

What is the difference between MQA and Darwin architecture?​

  • Judging from the data stream output after MQA processing, MQA performs upscaling operations (but since MQA does not provide his technical implementation details, we are not very clear about his approach), and the results after MQA upscaling will be displayed in the output information bar of HiBy Music APP;
  • The OS of Dawin architecture is upscaling, while NOS does not upscaling. Since OS/NOS switching is the user's active action, we did not display the sampling rate after OS;
  • The two upscaling of MQA and Darwin OS are not the same thing: one is the upscaling process expanded by the official MQA file (details are unknown), and the other is Darwin's OS supersampling, which can be used to refer to the structure diagram of the corresponding device;

Android Accessibility​

  • Test accessibility precondition confirmation

  • Introduction to some commonly used gesture functions of talkback
    1. Swipe up and then left to return to the home screen
    2. Slide down and then left, return
    3. You can slide songs and pages with your fingers up, down, left and right on the screen;
    4. Slide left is the previous item;
    5. Slide left is the next item;
    6. A single finger can slide the green box on the screen;
    7. Single finger double click is to confirm the selection in the box where click the green box;
